1. What we collect and why
When you book an experience we collect the lead traveler's name, email and phone number, plus your booking details. We use them to operate your booking: confirmation, updates about your experience, and support. When you browse the site we receive standard technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) used to keep the site working and improve it.
Payments are processed by our payment providers (card processing and PayPal). We do not store your card details.
2. Marketing
We only send marketing email with your permission, and every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe. Booking confirmations and messages about your experience are not marketing — they are part of the service you booked.
3. When we share information
We share personal information only with the providers needed to deliver your experience and operate the site (payment processors, hosting, the local operator or guide of your experience), and when the law requires it. Providers receive only what they need to perform their service. Payment providers have their own privacy policies, which we recommend reading.
4. International transfers
Your information may be stored on servers outside your country of residence. We work only with providers that offer adequate security and privacy standards, in line with Costa Rican data-protection law and, where applicable, the GDPR.
5. Security
We protect personal information with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (SSL/TLS), and restrict access to it.
6. Cookies
The site stores your booking progress in your browser's own storage, not in cookies. The only cookies set are placed by our payment providers during checkout, for fraud prevention and payment security. You can manage cookies in your browser settings; blocking them may prevent payment from completing.
7. Minimum age
By using this site you confirm you are of legal age in your country of residence, or that you have consented for your minor dependents to use it.
8. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and object to its use for marketing, by writing to support@discoverinexperiences.com. We answer within a reasonable time and as the applicable law requires.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy at any time by publishing the new version on this page. If a change significantly affects how we use your personal information, we will tell you and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
